Cookie Policy
Thinking Capital uses only strictly necessary cookies and a small number of local-storage items required for the site to function. We do not use advertising, marketing, analytics or third-party tracking cookies, and we do not share data with social networks or ad networks.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website. Local storage works similarly, storing information in your browser. Both can be used to remember your preferences or maintain a signed-in session. Under UK law, only cookies that are strictly necessary for a service you have requested can be set without your consent.
What we set
The full list of items this site stores in your browser:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| tc_theme | localStorage | Remembers your light or dark theme preference so the site loads in your chosen mode. | Persistent until cleared |
| tc_cookie_ack | localStorage | Records that you have acknowledged this cookie notice so the banner does not reappear. | Persistent until cleared |
| tc_access_token | sessionStorage | Holds the access token issued by Microsoft when you sign in to the client portal. | Cleared when the tab closes |
| msal.… | sessionStorage | Set by the Microsoft Authentication Library to manage the sign-in flow on the login page. | Cleared when the tab closes |
Third-party services
Sign-in for the client portal is delegated to Microsoft Entra ID. When you choose to sign in, Microsoft may set its own cookies on login.microsoftonline.com. Those cookies are governed by Microsoft's own privacy and cookie policies, not by Thinking Capital.
Managing cookies
Because the items above are strictly necessary, we do not provide an in-page toggle to disable them. You can clear or block them at any time using your browser's privacy settings, but doing so may prevent parts of the site from working. For example, you will be signed out of the portal, and your theme preference will reset.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect operational or legal changes. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the page.
